Have you ever painstakingly collected a full inventory of materials in a friendly lobby, only to be killed by a rat player at the last moment before evacuating? It’s awful, completely wasting all your time. This is why many players despise those rat players who prefer hiding and ambushing rather than engaging in direct combat.
While you’ll usually find yourself in a very friendly PvE lobby as long as you don’t initiate fire, where everyone’s goal is to fight ARC faction and loot ARC Raiders blueprints, if you let your guard down, you might not even know how you died! All because of those rat players.
Frankly, in most cases, these players aren’t actually that good at PvP. They roam into PvE lobbies because they can’t get any kills in normal PvP lobbies. Therefore, they often deliberately avoid firing at players for a period of time, forcibly matching themselves into these friendly loot boxes. Their goal is to kill players while they are busy dealing with bots, looting high-value containers, or evacuating, stealing their accumulated gear without risking a fair fight.
Based on this understanding, you might not need to worry too much about these rat players. Even if they gain the upper hand, as long as you use some clever positioning techniques to suppress them, you can still turn the tide and win. So here, IGGM will show you a few tips to greatly increase your success rate in killing these rat players!

Sensing a Rat Tracking You
First, if you notice a player constantly sneaking behind you, you need to be alert. Pay close attention to their gear; this often reveals whether they intend to have a fair fight or are planning a sneak attack.
Observe the opponent’s weaponry
However, most rat players aren’t very skilled; they’ll always carry some free kits, especially Kettle, Rattler, and Stitcher.
If you spot an opponent carrying a Rattler and Stitcher, it means you must immediately go on high alert. This combination covers almost all engagement distances and enemy types, and equipping both guns means there are virtually no obvious blind spots or weaknesses in their weapon configuration. Whether you choose to create distance or draw your weapon and engage is up to you.
Seize the opportunity to counterattack
If you decide to engage, don’t fire blindly. Immediately scan your surroundings and find the nearest cover. If you can induce the opponent to miss even a few rounds, especially if they’re equipped with a weakened Stitcher, they won’t be able to kill you instantly with just one magazine.
Furthermore, these rat players usually don’t equip their weapons with extended magazines, often carrying only a bare gun. So, when they have to stop to reload their Stitcher, that’s the best time to counterattack.
More importantly, those who like to ambush often choose poor positions because they always think they can kill you before you can retaliate. Because of this, they often don’t observe their surroundings or think about how to use cover. Therefore, if you can catch them off guard, you can completely disrupt their rhythm.
Using Cover to Counterattack
Next, you can make full use of cover to engage in the game. Suppose there’s a wall next to you, and the other player is somewhere behind you. Once you roll behind the wall, you can start using it for cover, peeking out occasionally to observe and look for opportunities. Especially when you see the opponent reloading, seize the opportunity to fire and kill them instantly! After all, their weapon cannot fire while reloading.
Therefore, the core principle is always: first assess the situation, find the nearest cover, and then formulate your tactics based on these conditions. Then, find the right moment to fire and win the battle.
Additionally, IGGM would like to remind you that unless your health is extremely low and the opponent is at a significant distance, it is generally not recommended to stop for healing during combat.
Unexpected Ambush
Now, IGGM wants to discuss another scenario. Imagine you’ve just discovered one of the rarest ARC Raiders blueprints in this area. While you’re busy adding these valuable ARC Raiders items for sale to your inventory, you might overlook the figure stealthily approaching you from behind. Because of the suddenness of the attack, you haven’t had time to analyze the surrounding situation or even know where to find cover.
Agile Movement
But don’t panic. As we mentioned before, many of these players don’t have top-tier weapons with top-tier magazines. Therefore, your only goal is to move as nimbly as possible, making them miss. So, once you’re hit, even if there’s no cover around, as long as you can sprint and roll in any direction, it will become extremely difficult for them to headshot you.
Of course, we don’t deny that you could still die in this situation, but the probability is extremely low. Most importantly, all you need to do is try to make your opponent run out of bullets, even just a few. Then, when they reload, the advantage is yours!
Counterattack while the opponent reloads
Before they can fire again, you can easily fire three or four bullets. If you’re using an automatic weapon, counterattacking will be even easier.
Many low-level players, like rats, often fall into chaos when they fail to secure a kill. Therefore, even the slightest bit of resistance can often completely break these enemies.
If you start moving nimbly and rolling to dodge, causing the opponent to panic and flee, then now is the best time to disengage. Don’t stand still in the open; you can use this opportunity to heal and recover health, as you’ve successfully created a safe distance. Plus, with a better weapon, your chances of winning will greatly increase. Of course, you can also choose to call for teammates to support you; the specific strategy depends on the situation.
In short, please remember: when facing these rat players, positioning is the crucial key to victory. If you can successfully dodge a few of their bullets, you’ll essentially have the initiative in the match.
How to deal with potential rats in the PvE lobby?
If you’re used to playing ARC Raiders PvE mode or often find yourself in friendly matches, being suddenly shot at can catch you off guard. Therefore, staying alert for potential ambushes is essential.
Once you notice these players around you, IGGM suggests maintaining distance and probing whether they’ll ambush you from behind. If you hear them draw their guns, don’t hesitate; immediately roll to create distance. This will give you the upper hand even in a one-on-one confrontation.
Please note, never choose to run directly, as the acceleration while running is extremely slow, making you practically a stationary target to the enemy!
Also, don’t forget to ensure your character has enough stamina. Because if you unfortunately find yourself in a situation where you might be ambushed, and your stamina is low, you won’t be able to react as quickly as I mentioned before; this greatly increases the chances of the enemy hitting you.
Now, basically, what you need to do is move up and down between cover, trying to give the enemy as few opportunities to fire and hit you as possible. Note that if you’re not equipped with a fully automatic weapon, there’s a gap between each shot fired. Therefore, when engaging the enemy, you should immediately return to cover during the intervals between each shot. Peek, shoot; peek, shoot; repeat this cycle to avoid being hit.
Of course, if you want a more satisfying shooting experience, then obviously having a fully automatic weapon like Torrente or Equalizer is a better choice. If your arsenal is empty, then quickly prepare some suitable weapons. IGGM has various types of ARC Raiders blueprints for sale, so you don’t have to rely on completely random drops; immediately craft the most powerful weapons and start fighting!
These seemingly insignificant details and precautions are, in essence, effective ways to increase your chances of survival in the game. If you encounter a rat completely unprepared, you certainly might not survive. But if you anticipate potential situations and have corresponding countermeasures, the outcome will be vastly different.
Hopefully, IGGM’s strategies will help you easily deal with these ambush rat players, avoid such dangers, and have a pleasant and friendly looting experience!
